What is the Steel Bridge Competition?

Each year University Civil Engineering Programs from around the country participate in what is known as the student steel bridge competition. This competition is sponsored by AISC and ASCE. The competition allows students to bring together everything they have learned in the classroom to design, fabricate, and construct a scaled model bridge.

At competition, each bridge is judged on the following criteria:

• Aesthetics
• Construction Speed
• Bridge Weight
• Stiffness
